What Is Reiki?

Reiki  is an ancient and profoundly simple healing art, which channels universal life energy, the divine life-giving force. Reiki  energy is gentle, yet powerful enough to dissolve and assist the healing of aliments of the physical and emotional body. Reiki  heals to the sub-atomic level of each cell. The Japanese theologist Dr. Usui re-discovered Reiki, the long-forgotten healing art at the end of the 19th century. Reiki  is an ancient and revered practice of "laying on of hands" which promotes and accelerates healing and balancing of the body, mind and spirit. The word Reiki simply means, universal life force energy.

How Does Reiki Work?

A Reiki practitioner has the ability to accelerate the healing process by transferring magnetic energy, either placing their hands on the body of the person receiving treatment or directing the energy towards them. As the balancing occurs a feeling of deep relaxation develops, resulting in re-establishment of harmony and regeneration.

The Reiki Experience:

The Reiki treatment is often experienced as gentle, relaxing and meditative. The receiver lies Children easily share Reikior sits in a comfortable position. There is no need to disrobe as this energy moves through clothing. A complete treatment lasts 1 to 1-1/2 hours. During this time the Reiki  practitioner allows his/her hands to rest gently on or near different areas of the body corresponding to major organs, the seven main glands of the endocrine system, chakras or any physical area that needs healing. The receiver only needs to relax, enjoy and receive!

Who Can Learn Reiki?

Anyone who is interested in the Healing Arts, in healing him / herself or others. The most important person to heal is YOU! Learning to be a Reiki healer can be a great gift, not only for your own healing, but to be of service to the earth, mankind and all of creation.

Reiki teaching is done through a series of attunements by a Reiki Master. The classes, both in traditional Usui method (which includes the Japanese Reiki) and Karuna Reiki®, are a combination of lecture, discussion and hands-on experience. Classes are small so that individualized attention may be given. Follow-up sessions and a mentorship program are encouraged. Weekly Reiki Circles in many locations are offered for guests and students. These circles offer Reiki treatments for everyone and on-going learning opportunities for students.
